Capture Video App For iPhone Lets You Capture Those Moments Before They Pass

Oooh, this is nice. Capture is a one-trick video recording app for iPhones that reduces the whole concept of snapping a video down to its very basics.

Capture is inspired not for the features it has, but for the features it doesn’t have. There are no filters to make stuff look all retro and hip, there’s no edit function. There’s no button for sharing with YouBook or Faceter or LinkedIn+ or whatever the social network du jour is. The only on-screen controls are a flash on/off button and a tiny start/stop button, but here’s the thing: you don’t even need to touch those.

That’s because Capture starts recording video the instant you open the app, and stops when you hit the home button. Whatever you recorded is automatically saved to your phone’s Camera Roll. If your aim is to capture a fleeting moment, this is the way to do it. If, like the makers of this app, you have small kids running around and there are a lot of those moments that are worth capturing, this is ideal.

Capture costs one dollar, and I’d say it’s well worth grabbing hold of a copy.
