The first authorised biography of Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been given a new title after its author, Walter Isaacson, persuaded publishers to go with something a little more “elegant.”

The book is currently available for pre-order and is due for release on March 6, 2012. However, it won’t be released as iSteve: The Book of Jobs as originally planned.

Instead, it will be more tastefully named Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.

Its original title was chosen by the publishers publicity department, but after a rethink and some feedback from his loved ones, Isaacson persuaded them to change it:

The old one, iSteve: The Book of Jobs, was chosen by Simon & Schuster’s publicity department. The author, Walter Isaacson, was never quite sure about it. His wife and daughter, however, were. They thought it was too cutesy. And now Isaacson has persuaded his publisher to go with something simpler and more elegant:.

You can currently pre-order the biography from Amazon ($16.50), though the online retailer is a little confused by the title change, naming the book “Steve Jobs: A Biography” instead. Alternatively, it’s available in the <a href="Steve Jobs – Walter Isaacson” target=”_blank”>iBookstore ($14.99).
