Bottom-Feeding Jeweler Unveils Despicable Diamond iPad for $20,000

We all know the wait for the iPad, at least in the U.S., will be over on April 3, right? Wrong. True connoisseurs know they need to wait until June 1, when Mervis Diamond Importers will unleash the hideous and despicable Diamond iPad on the world. It’s a bejeweled and bedazzled monstrosity boasting 11.43 carats [...]

iPhone App Magnets To Appify Your Fridge

20100312-iphonemagnets.jpg

If – like me – your fridge is black, then these shiny iPhone app fridge magnets from Jailbreak Collective will look very smart indeed displayed on the door.
Just 13 bucks gets you a set of these icon almost-replicas. I say almost because if you look carefully, you’ll see they’re not identical to the Apple originals. [...]

Is Apple Selling 20K iPads an Hour?

Did you buy an iPad when Apple began pre-sales this morning? If so, you weren’t alone. Indeed, Apple may have sold 20,000 iPads per hour, leading one commentator to suggest the Cupertino, Calif. company was earning $10 million per hour on its new tablet device.
The estimate comes from Andrew Erlichson, CEO of Phanfare, a photo [...]

Whited-Out Apple Keyboard As Pretentious As You can Get?

Here’s an Apple keyboard spray painted snowy, pure white — nothing to stop your eye but if your touch typing skills are still at high-school level, you’re in trouble.

Maker Essell says:

“The design snob in me isn’t particularly happy with Apple’s recent trend of using two colors (black and silver, white and silver) on their stuff.

So. Combine my pedantic taste for minimalism with nerdy touch typing abilities and a cheap can of white spraypaint, and you end up with my keyboard – possibly the most pretentious keyboard in existence.”

What do you think?

That’s pretty cool, but I don’t think these days that touch typing at high-school level is a bad thing.

Stupidest thing I saw in a while.

At Last!!! A keyboard worthy of the highest level of Mac-User. Most out here at “The Alice” is white-washed similarly – it would fit right in. You mate are cutting edge – bewdy~:0)

Nice, has a proper layout too.

Love it! How did you do it? Wont it wear of over time?

Awesome…should give these to those old fogies tip tapping with their index fingers. Maybe it’ll teach them to actually TYPE and not waste your time pecking away letter by letter!

I like it, and I agree with you about not liking Apple’s recent two-tone approach—I think the new unibody MacBooks would look a lot better if they did an anodized black version.

I think it is ultimate cool, but that’s because I’m so pretentious I switched off the subtitles on the back of the seat in front of me and read off the subtitles from two seats forwards in Wagner’s Ring Cycle at the Metropolitan Opera just so it would look like I understood the German.

I want white back, if for no other reason that it drives PC guys (they’r always guys för some reason;) nuts…

The new silver/black ones look like HP’s………and that just won’t cut it by me.

    It’s not pretentious. Just blank.

They should make this, with the letters printed on in black with temporary ink that will wear off as you learn the keys.

Perfect! Now let me just set my keyboard layout to Dvorak…
    :-)

Love it. Looks very futuristic, euro-cool.
