This Mini Stylus Lives in Your iPhone or iPad’s Dock Connector

Apple’s devices were designed work wonderfully without the need for a stylus, but sometimes they come in handy for certain things. But where do you keep them? There’s no room for a stylus in the iPad itself like those old touchscreen devices you no longer see, and if you clip it to the from of your Smart Cover it’s going to keep falling off. The JAVOedge Mini Stylus, however, fits neatly into your iPad’s dock connector.

This stylus is small and lightweight and has a plastic strip that’s designed to fit into the dock connector of your iOS device. However, according to Wired, it’s not as nifty as it sounds:

Imagine a stylus barely longer than the first knuckle of your thumb. A stylus as tricky to grip and use as the worn-down stubby pencils you were too cheap (or too poor) to replace back in school. Now imagine that, instead of being comfortably cylindrical, these styluses instead are a sharp-edged lozenge shape, complete with a sharp plastic strip protruding from one side.

Congratulations. You just imagined the JAVOedge Mini Stylus for iPad 2.

I like the idea of a stylus that fixes to your dock connector, but clearly this one isn’t quite as good as it could be. I guess the JAVOedge is so small so that when used with the iPhone or iPod touch, it doesn’t stick out too much, but a bigger version for the iPad might be a lot more useful. Or how about a telescopic one?

If you’re a fan of the JAVOedge, you can grab one now for $10.
