Apart from a new graphics chip, this MacBook Pro logic board looks exactly like the old one.

We’re almost certain Apple will announce a new MacBook Pro at WWDC this week, but what we’re not quite so sure of is exactly what the new notebook will bring. An Intel Ivy Bridge processor and a high-resolution Retina display seem like the most feasible changes, but there’s also been much debate over a new design.

Some reports have suggested the device will sport a thinner, lighter form factor that will be heavily influenced by the MacBook Air. While others have claimed the design will remain the same as existing MacBook Pros. Now a leaked logic board for the upcoming device seems to side with the latter.

One of those handsets is said to feature a 3.95-inch widescreen display with a 640 x 1136 resolution that’s taller than all the existing 3.5-inch iPhone displays we’ve seen to date.

Whatever Happened In The Case Of The Lost iPhone 4S Prototype?

The San Francisco tequila lounge where Apple reportedly lost an iPhone 4S prototype.

Remember way back last year, when some poor soul of an Apple employee reportedly lost a prototype iPhone 4S that he was testing out in a San Francisco tequila joint?

A great deal of controversy surrounded the case after it came out that Apple employees had reportedly posed as police officers when they investigated the property to which they’d tracked the lost iPhone. Afterwards, the owner of the house, Sergio Calderón, threatened to sue over the incident, and even hired a lawyer who tried (and apparently failed) to negotiate the case with Apple.

It looks, though, like Apple eventually settled after all… and possibly fired the director of security who was responsible for the raid over it.

Business Insider claims to have information on an iPhone 5 prototype from a source that “spent about two weeks” with the device. Citing several details about the alleged prototype, the source says that Apple ended up ditching the iPhone 5 at the last minute. Instead, the iPhone 4S was released as an incremental update to the product line.

While even Business Insider notes that its source has not been completely verified, the provided details do stack up nicely with the rumors we were all hearing leading up the iPhone 4S announcement.

We told you yesterday that Apple had allegedly lost a next gen iPhone prototype in a San Franciscan tequila bar. Through a string of events, it was uncovered that Apple had purportedly tracked the prototype device to an apartment in Bernal Heights and sent a private security team on a recovery mission.

The San Francisco Police originally said that it had no knowledge of such an investigation, and it was believed that Apple’s security team could have posed as police for the purpose of searching the apartment of Sergio Calderón. Now, the SFPD is saying that officers did in fact help Apple in the attempt to recover the mysterious iPhone prototype.

Hold on to your hats, because the iPhone 5 may have just been spotted in the wild, again. In classic fashion, an anonymous tipster has snagged a not-so-clear picture of what he claims to be Apple’s next iPhone.

Taken in San Francisco, this picture is of an alleged Apple employee on his way home from work. The tipster in question feels very strongly that the device in the employee’s hands is an iPhone 5, and he just may be right.

An iPhone 4 running a “test version” of iOS has been discovered by Vietnamese site tinhte.vn, and reveals a new Expose-like multitasking UI and a revamped Spotlight search function. Two videos published by the site demonstrate these new features, along with some pretty interesting hardware in the form a white, 64GB iPhone 4.

In this test version of iOS, double-tapping the home button displays your multitasking applications in a manner similar to that of Expose on your Mac. Instead of icons for the applications you have running – like you currently see in iOS 4 – you see a preview window for each application.

Charles Parr wonders whether Apple’s wireless Magic Mouse would be any more enchanting if you didn’t have to change the batteries, so he whipped up the above prototype.

He says:
“I’m not a product designer by any means, but I know changing batteries all the time can be a pain… I would definitely like to have a rechargeable Magic Mouse that will utilize the same dock connector that Apple has on all their products.”

Parr sent the idea along to Steve Jobs, but hasn’t heard anything yet.
What do you think?
