Feedly Adds Support For A Bunch Of RSS Apps Like Reeder

When Google announced the shut down of Google Reader this past March, Feedly stepped up, promising to create its own Reader-like system for other third party RSS apps to connect to, and thereby lessen the impact of Google’s industry-standard takedown.

In a blog post today, Feedly announced the next step of its plan to rule the RSS landscape with the support of several third party RSS apps, including Reeder, Press, Nextgen Reader, Newsify and gReader. I use Reeder on a daily basis on both my Mac and my iPad (which continues to be free until Google Reader actually shuts down its service as of July 1).

WSJ: Apple’s PR Is Starting To Feel The Heat

Apple is unlike any other company in the world when it comes to press relations. Most companies have to beg for coverage and shower journalists with free trips and gear, but Apple is known for giving a notoriously cold shoulder to the vast majority of publications. If you’re not on the shortlist, then you get no help from PR and certainly no sneak peaks at future products.

According to a new report in The Wall Street Journal, some recent changes within Apple PR “represent a recognition that competition is heating up:”

Apple’s iPad Mini Event Will Be Live Streamed To Your Apple TV [Update: And Your Mac & iOS Device, Too]

Hooray!

When Apple holds a press event to announce its latest gadget, the vast majority of us are frantically refreshing our favorite websites in an effort to keep up with the news as it’s breaking. It’s not often we get to watch the event live.

But sometimes, Apple treats us to a live video feed. And it’s doing that today for the much-anticipated iPad mini event.
