Apple drops fresh batch of betas for iOS, macOS and tvOS

Developers received a fresh new batch of beta software from Apple today, just two days after the company launched iOS 10.2 and tvOS 10.1 to the public.

The new first betas for macOS 10.12.3, iOS 10.2.1 and tvOS 10.1.1 all come with a number of bug fixes and performance enhancements, but they likely don’t contain any major new features.

Developers received a surprise update for iOS 10.2 this morning after Apple seeded the fifth beta build of the new software.

The new beta comes just four days after Apple released the last version to developers. This time, both devs and public beta testers can get their hands on the iOS update that brings a number of new features to iPhone and iPad.

Hackers have discovered a new method to unlock photos and messages on any iPhone, thanks to an iOS security flaw that utilizes Siri and VoiceOver.

iPhones running iOS 8 software and newer are vulnerable to the flaw, which was discovered by EverythingApplePro and iDeviceHelp. The group revealed the hack in a new video that shows you don’t need any coding experience or special hardware to pull it off. All you need is a few minutes alone with a victims iPhone and some help from Siri.

The third beta build of iOS 10.2 is now available to developers, just a week after Apple released the last update.

iOS 10.2 beta 3 is accompanied by the third betas for macOS Sierra 10.12.2 and tvOS 10.1. The previous versions of the beta updates added support for dozens of new emoji, an SOS feature and much more.

Apple released its second iOS 10.2 beta this week, and while we all got excited for brand new emojis and the TV app, we missed an awesome new feature that’s even more important: Emergency SOS.

Adopted from Apple Watch, Emergency SOS lets you discreetly contact the police in an emergency.

Apple seeded a fresh batch of beta updates to developers this morning. Among the new goodies is the new TV app that was demoed during Apple’s October keynote.

The new TV app can be found in iOS 10 beta 2. Apple also added a couple of other new features to the beta, including a new SOS feature.

One day after launching the first beta of iOS 10.2 to developers, Apple has now made the software update available to public testers.

iOS 10.2 is the first major update for iPhone and iPad users since 10.1 brought Portrait Mode To iPhone 7 Plus users as well as a number of UI tweaks. The new iOS 10.2 beta is slim on new features but does bring 72 new emoji and wallpapers.
