CoM - Gloves

Winter’s coming, which means colder weather. And we all know how annoying it is to use our smartphones with gloves on, constantly taking them on and off to make calls and send texts.

Well, no more. The touch-screen compatible gloves use sensor technology to conduct your skin through the material, and enable you to use any touch screen as if you had no gloves on at all. Grab a pair (or 5) of the perfect stocking stuffer for only $14 during this limited time offer courtesy of Cult of Mac Deals.

Tropiformer Gadget Jacket Looks Like it Jumped Right Out of a Bond Movie

Even before I ever dreamed of writing and taking pictures for a living — I’ll just pause here to let my fellow journalists and bloggers finish laughing hysterically at the idea that earnings from journalism could be considered “a living” — I rocked one of those photographer’s jackets. You know the one — zippers and pockets everywhere. I was a Geek King in the jacket, but I didn’t care; it let me carry all my gizmos and, yes, sometimes even photography gear.

Only the most wizened, old-school photographers use those vests anymore. And there are far better ways to shlep a quiver of gadgets — like the magnetic-sleeved, 22-pocket, Personal Area Network-equipped Tropiformer by Scottevest. Oh yeah.

Will Apple Save the Wristwatch?

By

iwatch

The wristwatch has fallen out of fashion. Sure, a few geezers still wear watches out of habit. Hipsters wear them ironically. Geeks wear them defiantly. And the fashionable wear them decoratively.

But these people are the minority. Bare wrists are the norm now.

People think the wristwatch is dead because our phones tell time, so they’re redundant. But that’s not why.

The reason most reject wristwatches is the same reason most rejected tablets until Apple shipped the iPad in 2010: The available selection is too bloated, clunky, expensive and poorly suited to how people really live and work.

In other words, the right kind of watch would get everyone wearing them again.

Apple mainstreamed tablets by re-imagining what a tablet is, by making it touch and with app and at low cost with a compelling user interface.

Will they do the same for the wristwatch? I think they will.

Asymco T-Shirts Show Off Apple’s Successes In Dorky Charts

Unlike a tattoo, these dorky t-shirts can be easily removed.

Last week I was in the tobacconist buying some Cuban cigars, and the girl in front of me was tattooed with an Apple logo. I got a crappy picture, but I snapped it out of horror rather than admiration.

Still, a tat is one thing. An Asymco T-Shirt, featuring a graph of, say, Apple’s increasing stock price, is another. These things are so dorky that they come out the other side being awesome.
