I’ve always been a fan of Twittelator Neue, a clean Twitter client for iPhone that’s super fast and has a unique way of handling pictures in your timeline. However, I never agreed with its pricing policy. The app costs $4.99 upfront, but users had to pay an extra $1.99 per year on top of that for push notifications.
Fortunately, its creators have had a change of heart. With its latest update, Twittelator Neue provides push notifications for free.
Twitter may have given up on its official Mac client, which hasn’t seen an update in well over 18 months, but one third-party developer hasn’t. Deniz Mert Edincik, an iOS developer from Turkey, has taken it upon himself to patch the application to provide support for Apple’s new Retina MacBook Pros.
When Twitter released its new guidelines last week, it quickly became clear that third-party clients would be hit hardest by the company’s latest rules. However, it seems third-party developers aren’t quite as concerned as the rest of us. Tapbots quickly confirmed that Tweebot development wouldn’t change, and now Iconfactory has confirmed that it will continue development on an “all-new” Twitterrific as planned — unfazed by Twitter’s new rules.
Everyone’s favorite torrent client for the Mac just got an awesome update. In addition to a number of new features on the Mac, BitTorrent has launched a fantastic HTML5 version of µTorrent for the iPad that makes managing your µTorrent downloads a breeze while you’re away from your computer.
Apple announced Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on June 6th and shortly there after renamed it to OS X Lion. If you are using either the client or server version of OS X Snow Leopard and you purchased a Mac on or after June 6th you are eligible for a free OS X Lion update under specific circumstances.
