The thing about Apple Stores – the thing that makes them such a perfect target for the writers of The Simpsons – is the vibe they have about them. They’re not like most stores; entering the Apple Store is supposed to be an experience beyond that of simply handing over money to Steve Jobs. There’s supposed to be a wow factor. And the architecture and interior design is essential to that.



Don’t forget, though: the architecture has a hidden message. And that message is: BUY OUR STUFF. BUY OUR STUFF. BUY OUR STUFF.

Most Apple Stores or Authorized Reseller stores are outstanding. You should see the some of the Reseller Stores in Argentina (!!!)… their design is really impressive, and it always reflects Apple’s philosophy about the importance of the user experience. From the moment you are in these stores, you know these people “Think Different”. The attention to the last detail is always something to celebrate. I like that, we all like that, it’s a lifestyle, and that’s why we keep track of everything related to Apple like geeks…

Hi, i work for a glass company and since some time now i have been looking for a great NYC Apple store cube arquitectual photo that i can use to make a poster for mi office, any ideas?

The “buy” message is a given in any retail store and doesn’t distinguish Apple from any other retailer. The design of an Apple store, however, goes further than exhorting visitors to buy. It conveys that Apple is different and special, and that the visitor is different and special by association. When you purchase an Apple product you join a “family” that prides itself on this difference. The design of the stores do a good job of transmitting this message.
