Security Expert: “Mac OS X Is Safer, But Less Secure”

20100319-ipwned.jpg

Tech site H-Online has an interesting story today, quoting security expert Charlie Miller about his forthcoming talk at the CanSecWest conference next week.
He says OS X is full of security holes. There are lots more than in Windows, he claims.
And yet: OS X is a safer system to use. Why? Because, in the words [...]

Apple Devotes Entire Home Page To Jerome York Obituary

20100318-york.jpg

If ever you needed a sign that Apple was a different kind of technology company, this is it.
What other computer manufacturer would remove its top-selling, hype-inducing, industry-altering new product from the prime spot on its website home page, and replace it with an obituary to an investor?
This is one of those “Here’s to the [...]

    Two thoughts:
    1) The fact that there’s ANY line for a phone other than the iPhone is impressive.
    2) I know a number of people who are waiting for their contracts to expire (non-iPhone), and can’t wait to get a new Pre.

Even with as long as it took for Palm to finally come up with their “3rd generation” device, they have a die-hard following (I still use my Handspring Edge) that won’t give up a tool that’s been great to use for a long time. Hopefully these loyal users will be rewarded with the Pre.

Though if I spring for a ridiculously expensive phone it’ll probably be an iPhone. I’m even more fanatical about my Mac than my Palm. If there’s a cheap iPod touch coming with at least 32MB of SSM, I’ll be in that line.

It’s interesting that the Pre got a decent following, not only forming lines at the release, but also coverage in the news. Obviously we won’t be seeing any news reports of the long lines, but there was still exposure to the product before it released.

[...] Occasionally, I’ll get a request to port Mach Dice to other platforms (Palm Pre, LG Touch, HTC Diamond, Google Android, Virtual Tabletop, etc.). But with a full time job, I barely have enough time to just work on the iPhone. So it isn’t likely any time soon. Still, I am curious. Do any of you have one of the other smart phones? Or does anyone have a sense of how many people own each of the devices? My impression is that iPhone has the biggest app customer base out there, but I’ve only ever seen anecdotal evidence. [...]

Ok so I just realized how much I miss having a custom tone for text messages… I know the standard one is very clean and fits in with the whole theme of the phone very well but with all the customization options on the Pre I can’t imagine why the only thing you can select for are phone calls.

I’m pretty sure if people are vocal enough about such an easy change then Palm will respond fairly quickly.

I used Tansee iPhone Transfer Photo to transfer my iPhone photos onto my pc. Work like a charm! If you need such a software to help you transfer your iPhone photos to pc or a new iPhone, you can visit Tansee iPhone Transfer Photo on softwarebbs .

This photo is real BULLSHIT! peaple are fuking idiots and think the iPhone is better than Palm Pre, i’ve have the iphone 2 times, and i just end by selling them on eBay cuz they bored me, now i have the Palm Pre n is beter than iPhone in many ways. The iPhone 3gS is a good phone, but there are many phones out there better, like the palm pre and now more cuz Palm is updating to WebOS 1.4

by the way, apple needs a hole new phone to put video camera on iPhone, in other hands, Plam just make a new WebOS and the problem is resolve!
    Palm Rules!!!
