L-Shaped Mac Mini Might Be Shape Of Things To Come

The New Mac Mini Concept from Sait Alanyali on Vimeo.

Behold, the work of Sait Alanyali, designer of things. His plan for an L-shaped Mac mini might leave you a little bemused, to put it mildly, but apart from the hemisphere, what other shapes have been cruelly ignored by Jonathan Ive and his Mac design minions in recent years? Why haven’t we seen a tetrahedron iMac? A rhomboidal iPod? What about iWork packaging that takes the form of a Möbius strip?

While you’re pondering that, have a look at Sait’s Ikea-hacked work station. He even painted the plastic surrounds of his cheap monitors white, so that they’d look the part.

Concept or not, its crap. heat rises and when it does it wont come out the bottom like that. if its sitting down, it blocks the fan. this guy must never even use a computer or in the least know simple physics. GARBAGE, DONT WASTE MY TIME!!!

interesting, but not at all practical. i’d like to see it do a cute dance with a power cord and 5 usb cables plugged into it.

Gee Phil, maybe a little less caffeine?

stupid concept….what would be the point….air flow? give me a break

I agree with Phil, this is a waste of time. This final insult sees cultofmac.com removed from my auto-click blogs bookmark.

    Good Luck!

@ SAM – why would you take it that far? You know what this site is all about…good ridance…

    Wow. Pretty goddamn useless.
    And fugly.
And wtf is with the obsession with the fans? The guy knows the Cube didn’t even need fans, right?

Fascinating design IMO. It doesnt take to be a genius to see that such a tiny device wont have so much problem removing the heat.

I am amazed by how many ways you can use it. Especially pyramid-like stand is unseen before..

    Good job.

It doesn’t take to be a genius to do a lot of things, random dude.

Genius! It resolves a problem with the Mac Mini that never even existed! Not only that, but it introduces a form factor that limits its placement.

    This thing is so awesome!

After ‘The New Mac Mini’ a lot of people wanted a computer between an iMac and a Mac Pro with more media options. This is my second mac design: Mac Tower!

I own A mac mini. Someone said A new version of the the mac mini is coming out this year. I would not touch your Dorkey computer. You sound like A person that has too much time on there heads. I’m happy with the shape of mine. On my work desk, It fits perfectly on The top shelve, front and back like my external drive and back up drive. Your computer would keep falling off and may flipping on my head. If the normal shape of the mac mini work,s don’t try to change it.
