It’s time for our weekly digest of tiny iPhone reviews, courtesy of iPhoneTiny.com, with some extra commentary exclusive to Cult of Mac.
This time, we review Pastebot, 007: Top Agent, Jackson Pollock, Rhythm Racer, Judgement Day War, and TweakyBeat.
APP OF THE WEEK
Pastebot: First-rate clipboard manager w/ built-in image filters & text editing + free sync app for Mac users. 5/5 $2.99 http://is.gd/5oHgm
007: Top Agent: Dire, repetitive turn-based one-on-one fighter. Questionable AI & seemingly random hit points. 1/5 $0.99 http://is.gd/7tl8q
Jackson Pollock: Hugely flawed painting app. Nice idea, ruined by awful aliased images and low-quality saves. 1/5 $0.99 http://is.gd/7tlOM
Rhythm Racer: Attempt to merge F-Zero & Guitar Hero. Only 1 track, imprecise controls & dull. Looks nice, tho’. 1/5 Free http://is.gd/7tZ1U
Judgement Day War: Galcon-like war-game, with on-path tanks & free-flying copters. Good, but Galcon’s better. 3/5 $1.99 http://is.gd/7u5af
TweakyBeat: Lo-fi monophonic retro-sounds ‘drum’ machine. Very limited but surprisingly compulsive and fun. Free 3/5 http://is.gd/7ugwf
Yet again, I’ve fallen for a Tapbots app. Pastebot is also perhaps the first app by the company that’s utterly essential (as opposed to being ‘merely’ very good indeed), hugely powering up your device’s clipboard, but also bundling a number of handy image and text filters. The real wow moment for me, though, was installing Pastebot Sync and discovering just how quick it could be to share clipboard content between my iPhone and Mac. Fantastic stuff.
