iPhone – All You Need to Be a Pop Star

We’ve previously shown some of the musical amazements made possible with the iPhone and Smule’s Ocarina, and we’ve talked about the incredible, inventive Stanford Laptop Orchestra, but check out this video of The Mentalists playing a fully arranged pop tune using nothing more than their Apple mobile devices and software downloaded from the iTunes AppStore.
The truly paradigm-shifting import of the creative doors opened by Apple’s breakthrough mobile operating system are only just beginning to surface.

But yeah, there’s some great stuff out there. I think they’d have done better to get BeatMaker and sequence the whole thing

that was freakin awesome! a lot of people don’t realize the potential Apple has given to regular people. Ocorina is an amazing app all on its own. great job to whoever those girls are.

But the headline’s so misleading, the iPhone isn’t all I need to make me a pop star. I need to be 20 years younger, three stone lighter and talented (optional) for a start, and even that’s before the makeover…
