The singer Beyonce Knowles -- one of the biggest celebrities in the world -- uses her MacBook at the pool.
When you’re among the top achievers in your given field of endeavor it only stands to reason you probably choose the best tools available to do whatever it is you do, both professionally and personally.
Our survey of some of the best of the best across a wide range of endeavors shows lots of those at the top of their games choose Apple gear when it comes to computing and entertainment and we offer here a gallery of 10 top machers from the fields of media, sports, entertainment, politics and elsewhere who choose Apple products to enhance and enable their achievements.
There’s a reason the game is called Follow the Leader, isn’t it?

Mark Zuckerberg was just another pimply faced Harvard undergrad in 2004 but he came up with the idea for what is now the most wildly popular, fastest growing social media property on the Internet, facebook. He’s probably upgraded to a MacBook Pro by now.

Here’s a two-fer. Jay-Z and Beyoncè are the Royal Couple of Pop Music in America today. Jay-Z currently holds the record for the most #1 albums by a solo artist on the Billboard charts and is a successful businessman in the clothing (Rocawear), recording (DefJam) and sports (New York Nets) industries. His wife, the super-fine and super-talented Beyoncè is one of the most successful female recording artists of the new millennium and the highest-grossing artist under 30, according to Forbes magazine. They are both Mac-heads.

Bruce Willis is also a Mac user. I remember reading a blog where this guys was on iChat and was speaking to Bruce on his iChat and he had screen shots to prove it. Why wouldn’t the best of the best choose a Mac, they are the best.

I believe it was Douglas Adams (a very devoted Mac fan, bought the first one to be imported to the UK) who said “Mac users might be the %5 of the market, but I bet they are the best %5″ or something like that.

This is fanservice, plain and simple. But I enjoy it all the same…

I don’t look at multiple pages as this is only shooting for page hits and I’m not into that. So I guess I’m only seeing the first page.

Shouldn’t Jay-Z be working on his HP Pavilion notebook?
Rik van der Eng, on October 28th, 2009 at 9:59 am
I guess this depends on how you see it. Aside from the hacker, I’d bet the reason that these “big ones” choose the Mac because they don’t want to nerd around. They want things to “just work” so they can focus on their goals and dreams instead. Take the The Pope for example – he has way too much other stuff to think about: sweet little choir boys.
Painfully true joke aside, this is why I as a life-long “PC” converted – I found out that I could spend more time on my product than on the tool I was making my product on.

Just like to add one thing to Cloonys picture: he is dressed like Steve Jobs!
Apple fanboy for sure…

@ OlsonBW: you can thank Leander for that shot of Beyoncè in the bikini; I don’t blame you for not moving off of that page.
But you’re actually missing some pretty cool peeps inside.

@TheBrew
I don’t see how your joke about the Pope is painfully true. Give me any sort of evidence to prove that the Pope spends his time thinking about “sweet little choir boys.” Grow up.
Now what I wanted to say: I’m not comfortable with any laptop being that close to water!

This story, about all the cool non-tech folks who use macs, is like a story about celebrities who own fancy-looking sports cars and only drive them to the hairdresser on Rodeo Drive.
Not really much of an endorsement for Ferrari’s technical superiority, neh? More like form over substance…
iGenius, on October 29th, 2009 at 7:28 am
Smart people like me don’t fall for sponsored propaganda.
Jay-Z and Beyoncè, both continually fans-harassed celebrities, just seated on a public place showing his macs?. No fans around?

@ Jared

@ Rik
Yes, Jay-z was paid to shot a commercial for HP, but for some reason he chooses a mac. =)
@ iGenius
Sure, Kevin Mitnick, who the US Department of Justice called “most wanted hacker”, is a non-tech person.

Facebook is worth a few billion dollars. Sure, the founder must be non-technical. Heck, he probably coded facebook using crayons. (or not)

@ Marraco
Jay-z photo probably were taken at some private location such as a recording studio.
