Daily Deals: Apple Slashes iPod Prices Ahead of Announcements

As Mac fans await word from San Francisco today, Apple unveiled across-the-board price cuts on its line of iPod MP3 players. Today’s deals concentrate on the iPod, including an iPod docking cradle, Sony’s wireless S-AIRPLAY dock and other price cuts on iPod gear.

The Apple Store slashed prices across the board on iPod touch, iPod classic, and iPod nano MP3 Players, as listed below. (With free shipping, that’s $20 to $120 off and easily the lowest total price we’ve seen for each model.) Plus, get free shipping on all orders. Sales tax is added where applicable. Note that later today, Apple is holding a media event, where it’s rumored that new iPod models may be launched. The iPod price drops:

This dock allows users to connect their iPods or iPhones to their home stereo or TV. Plus, it also features a wireless remote control, 3.5mm audio out, USB connectivity. Deal ends September 30.

CircuitCity.com offers the Sony S-AIRPLAY iPod Dock with Two Wireless Speakers, model no. AIR-SA20PK, for $189.99. This $40 mail-in rebate chops it to $149.99. (With about $17 for shipping, that’s $18 under our August mention and the lowest total price we could find by $23.) This system lets you share your iPod music throughout your home or office with two wireless receivers/speakers. The dock recharges most players (not the curved screen iPod nano, 2nd generation iPod touch, or iPhone 3G/3GS) and includes an AM/FM tuner. Rebate ends September 30.

The Apple Store still offers the factory-refurbished, current-generation Apple iPod nano 8GB MP3 Player in eight assorted colors (Orange pictured) for $99. (With free shipping, that’s still $34 below the lowest total price we’ve seen for a new unit.) Sales tax is added where applicable. All refurbished iPods carry a 1-year Apple warranty, the same as new iPods. Items are removed from Apple’s site when sold out.

Notably, the factory-refurbished Apple iPod nano 16GB MP3 Player is now available for $129, a $20 drop since our mention last week.

eForCity.com offers the Kensington LiquidAUX Auxiliary Car Kit with Remote for iPod and iPhone, model no. K33429US, for $43.99. Coupon code “EFWS090717″ cuts it to $21.99. (With free shipping, that’s $14 under our March mention and the lowest total price we’ve seen.) This kit connects an iPod or iPhone to the auxiliary port of a car stereo. It also includes a small wireless remote that attaches to the steering wheel.

The HHI All-in-One iPod / iPhone FM Transmitter in Black for $19.99. Add coupon code “ifmall” to your cart to slice it to $14.99. (With shipping at $5.95, it’s tied with our previous mention as the lowest total price we’ve seen for this particular transmitter.) This supports output frequencies between 88.1 and 107.9Hz, Bluetooth connectivity, and support for all dockable iPod and iPhone models.

Of note, HandHeldItems.com offers the same transmitter with a remote control for $19.99 via coupon code “fmallremote” plus $5.95 for shipping.

Today only at MidnightBox.com, click the “Deal 1″ banner to find the refurbished Logitech AudioStation Express iPod Speaker System, model no. 970329-0403, for $26.95. eForCity.com offers the Case Logic Small Universal Neoprene Pocket in Rust Orange for $5.99. Coupon code “EFWS090716″ knocks it to $3.99. (With free shipping, that’s the lowest total price we could find for this case in any color by $3.) It’s designed to hold MP3 players, digital cameras, cell phones, and other portable electronics.

At PC Micro Store, bag a free Lux iPhone 3GS Car Charger with the purchase of an iPhone 3GS accessory via coupon code “Dealnews3G12V”. (In all, over 500 items are available, many of which are at or near lowest-we’ve-seen prices.) Plus, get free shipping on most items.
