Nearly 20 years ago, just as personal desktop computers were taking off, researchers at Xerox started thinking about [...]

mystery6

This is your last chance to correctly name a mystery Apple item to win a T-shirt.

Not just any T-shirt: choose from the Apple-inspired designs at might tees, which include the I Love Lisa we wrote about, a retro-style logo and Steve Jobs in typeface.

apple_tees

The tees are made with water-based eco inks screen printed on high quality tri-blend shirts (part organic cotton, part recycled rayon and polyester) and a $28-$36 value.

We’ll chose a winner at random from correct answers — leave them in the comments but specify object and model, e.g. “Macintosh Quadra 700.”

    Apple Macintosh IIc

    Apple 2c

I think it’s an Apple II c…the small white one with the disc door on the side and the small monitor that sits on top.

    it’s a Apple IIc

    It’s an Apple IIc

    Apple IIc

    Its an Apple IIc.

The keyboard should be just below and the vents just above. The power indicator to the right of the disk light and the reset button to the left of the text video mode switch. – I’m such a geek.

IIc not a plus as the plus did not have the 40/80 column switch. Memories.

the icons and color do indicate a later model though.

Got to be an Apple II c

    Its an Apple IIc

    a p p l e l l c switch

    its a apple 2nd switch

    Apple IIC (International version)

OHHHH i always wanted one of these…

Apple II c (international keyboard version.)

    Its an Apple IIc

    Apple IIc

Nice an apple //c ! We had one of these at primary school, I still think it’s one of the best designed apple computers from the earlier days. Great example of frog design’s snow white design language. and so compact!!

    Apple //c

    Definitely Apple //c!

    Apple //c

    It’s an Apple //c

Looks like an Apple llc. Although the one I had seen had the word keyboard next to the second switch instead of what appears to be a picture of one in this picture.

Looks like I’ve been beat to the answer. But this looks like the old //c models my dad worked on back in the day. Good times!

    It’s the Apple //c!

Apple //c! Had one for a long time,, loved it!

Apple IIc. It was my first mac. It had a green screen and I spent countless hours trying to program a pinball game on it and playing lemonade stand. Oh yeah and I did a few school reports on it too. We were so surprised when my Dad brought it home because it was a huge expense at the time. I think he paid close to $2,000 with the monitor and accessories. I have been a apple man ever since.

    Apple II C

    My first computer!!!
    The Apple IIc!!!

It’s an Apple II C (International)

That there is an Apple IIc!

    Apple //c

An International Apple IIc, not the American version with the Dvorak/Qwerty switch!

    Apple II C

    Definitely an Apple //c

Bought one in the US and took it home to the UK in carry-on baggage (with a 128Kb Mac in the other carry-on bag!)

It’s a mac IIc. Still have my receipt… $2900 for the IIci with a Maxtor 210 MB Hard Drive and 4MB of RAM ! Still have the invoice.

    Apple // C

As has already been amply described, it’s a //c. It was my first Apple, after a string of Commodores. It went away when I got my first Mac, a 512E. Sigh…

    Apple //c

    Its an Apple IIc

Apple//c or Apple IIc or an Apple Two See or an Apple “Toosie”

    Apple IIc

    It is the Apple //c

    Apple //c
    :)

    Apple IIc

    Apple //c

Just like the one in the box beside my desk!!! Must get it out and set it up properly one of these days.

Late to the party, but it’s definitely an Apple IIC, right above zee keyboard.

    Apple IIc

It’s an apple IIc, the first Apple I ever owned. The 40/80 switch told the monitor how many characters to display across the screen. And the little bar next to the (5 1/4″ !) floppy icon showed disc activity. Ahhh, memories…

    NIc Dalton erroneously said:
    >Apple Macintosh IIc

    There’s no such thing.

    Thomas Jestus erroneously said:
    >Apple IIc. It was my first mac.

No, that has NOTHING to do with Macintoshes.

    Apple IIc

Yep looks like an Apple IIc to me, used to practice on these engineering beauties when I was a young man (long time ago !!).

    Apple IIc

    It is an Apple IIc.

My first computer, too. It’s the Apple llc, which I bought in 1985. How far we’ve come!

My first computer, too. It’s the Apple llc. I purchased one in 1985. How far we’ve come!

    Apple llc.

It’s a later model Apple IIc, as indicated by the presence of disc and keyboard icons instead of text.

Apple IIc. or //c, if you’re being specific.

Apple IIc. My first Apple Computer, ah memories…

Apple IIc. Jeez, using the comments area for submissions isn’t very fair, you can tell who’s right based on the most popular submission. That said, I already knew what it was before I scrolled down :)

    Iphone of the 1980s

    Apple IIc is my guess.
