Contest Winner: Mystery Object T-Shirt Giveaway
9:08 am, October 29th, 2009, Nicole Martinelli

The mystery object in Monday’s contest is a Personal Laser Writer 300 from 1996, belonging to our own Tim Cox.
About it, he says: “I got it from a guy on lowendmac.com for 15 bucks. I couldn’t find the original selling price for these printers but I think it’s close to $6,000.”
The picture is from the side of the printer and it’s a awkwardly designed cubby to hide where the power cord connects to the printer. There’s one on the other side for the printer cable. ”
Winner named after the jump.

The winner, chosen randomly from the correct entries, is Antony Platt, who gets his pick of the Apple-iscious tees from might tees, pictured above.
We also want to thank the following readers for making us laugh:
“OK, so I’m gonna go with an Apple Color LaserWriter12/660 PS. Either that or a power option on my Hoth Battle Station I’ve been missing all these years…” — Stein
“Is it an an apple hi-fi?” — Sam
Next Monday we’ll be posting another mystery photo, for another T-shirt.

I presume the printer still works? I’ve seen these and similar era HP Laserjets still pumping paper. Amazing.

I have had one of these printers running for almost 10 years and never a hick up. Unfortunately it had to make way for a color printer in my place. However it seems that the Salvation Army is using it now in their office.
