Here’s a cute little Twitter client called Pocket.
Pocket lives at the top of your display, permanently attached to your Menu Bar. Personally, that’s what I dislike about it most, but that’s because I’m a focus kind of person and I don’t want Twitter in my face the whole time. But Pocket wasn’t made for me.
No, Pocket was made for people who love having Twitter in their face the whole time, and for that purpose it totally rocks. I love the cute colors, I love the clever way that all the functionality you need is crammed into such a tiny weeny space. I love the one-tweet-at-a-time way that it displays things, giving you the chance to reply or retweet stuff as it arrives. Which is great if you can afford to spend your whole day watching Twitter.
I won’t be using Pocket myself, but if you love watching your tweets and want something colorful and cute to do it with, I’d recommend Pocket.

As the Twitter revolution gains momentum (or hype, take your pick), a virtual smorgasbord of Twitter clients has presented itself at the App Store. One of the newest plates at the feast is Chirp Flow, which — like Twitterfall — streams tweets in real time. Except that where Twitterfall is a buck, Chirp Flow is free via ad-support.
Right now, Chirp Flow is pretty stripped-down and spartan, with a search box and the resulting never-ending, pause-able flow of tweets that match the search phrase. But the app’s website promises much more functionality, including clickable links and the ability to author tweets. Chirp Flow’s creator, Garrett Moon, told us the new features could be up-and-running in as little as a few weeks.
Besides being strangely mesmerized by watching tweets drift down my screen, I can totally see tweeple becoming attwicted to this app: tracking trending tweets (another function that might be added soon), planning the next Operation Chokehold…

Here’s a clever way to use Twitter to get attention for a new iPhone app — get Twitter users to tweet about a MacBook prize giveaway.
Taptaptap is giving away a $6,000 custom MacBook to a lucky follower of the company’s Twitter stream, drawn at random.
The competition is hotting up as Twitter users retweet the details and the promotion spreads virally. More than 10,500 people have entered so far, less than a day after the competition opened.
To enter, users must follow Taptaptap’s Twitter stream, and then broadcast details of the competition by updating their Twitter status with the competition URL: http://tweetblast.taptaptap.com. The winner will be drawn at random on August 27.
The competition is to promote Taptaptap’s new app called Convert, a unit calculator that costs $1 (launch special).
The winner will get a brand new ColorWare Stealth MacBook Pro — a limited edition MacBook Pro that’s been customized with a soft-touch, matt black coating. Only 10 made, says ColorWare, and worth $5,999.
If you enter, keep an eye on your Twitter account. The winner will notified with a direct message. If they don’t respond within a week, a new winner will be chosen.

The line for this morning’s Schillernote at WWDC was already several blocks long before the first light of dawn. See the pictures on Flickr and reports on Twitter. Compare to this unintentionally hilarious collection of pre-dawn Palm Pre lineup photos.
Talking of Twitter, there’s been several tweets saying Steve Jobs has been spotted at WWDC.
However, it looks like a false rumor that’s spreading fast. Most of the Twitter sightings seem to be a retweet of a tweet by Michael Fey, known as MrRooni, who said: “Holy damn I just saw Steve Jobs walk through Moscone! #wwdc.”
‘I’m guessing, but MrRooni’s tweet looks like a joke to me. But now the joke is spreading, and others are treating it as real.
