The iPad Air 3 may boast a 4K display, as well as up to 4GB of RAM and improved battery life.

Given that the current iPad Air has a resolution of 2048 x 1536, a 4K display would come close to doubling its predecessor’s image quality.

News of a new iPad Air 3 coming in March broke yesterday, although no mention was meant of the display quality — which would be a definite big selling point for the device. The 4K display panels will reportedly be made by General Interface Solution and TPK Holding.

Yesterday’s report suggested that one of the iPad Air 3’s biggest new features will be a Pencil-ready display, giving users the chance to use use the pressure-sensitive stylus which debuted with the iPad Pro. Other new features may include four-speaker audio, an A9X processor, a rear flash and improved cameras.

iPad sales slid again in the last quarter, despite the debut of the iPad Pro. It also marked the first time iPad mini sales beat out those of the iPad Air. Could a 4K iPad Air 3 be enough to turn around flagging sales, and get you to pick up a new tablet? Leave your comments below.
