This Week’s Must-Have iOS Games: Tuned, Storm in a Teacup, Bumpy Road & More!

Kicking off this week’s list of must-have iOS games is one of the most enjoyable music quiz games in the App Store called Tuned. It’s is an innovative new game for the iPhone that offers music lovers an endless number of entertaining quizzes from just about every genre there is.

Storm in a Teacup is an adorable little platform adventure in which you navigate your way through magical lands in a teacup, avoiding the bad guys and solving puzzles in an effort to complete every level.

Bumpy Road is another wonderful platformer that features a unique play mechanic and tells a wonderful love story. Despite its slightly soppy storyline, it’s brilliantly entertaining.

Tuned – (Free) iPhone – Games

Tuned for iPhone

The unique thing about Tuned is that it uses song previews from the iTunes store’s top charts to create an endless number of music quizzes from countless different genres, from top hits to pop music, hip hop & rap to fitness & workout, and classical to reggae. You can choose to play 50-question quizzes with the free version of Tuned (supported by iAds), or for $0.99 you can unlock 100- and 300-question games, all the genres, and split-screen multiplayer. As you play you will hear a preview of each song and the aim is to try and select the correct artist from the 4 possible answers. It’s highly polished, works incredibly well, and for music quiz fans, no other title comes close.

Storm in a Teacup – ($0.99) Universal – Games

Hop aboard your teacup in Storm in a Teacup and prepare for this delightful adventure set in a magical dream world, with over 40 beautiful levels. You play Storm who flies around in his teacup solving little physics puzzles, avoiding the countless pitfalls, and beating the bad guys in a bid to complete every level. This imaginative platformer features stacks of challenging little puzzles and crisp, high definition graphics; in addition to Game Centre and Crystal support with 15 achievements. It mixes bright, beautiful visuals with a great platform challenge.

Bumpy Road – ($2.99) Universal – Games

Bumpy Road promises to be “a love story on 4 wheels!” Spring is here and a couple in their autumn years decide to go for a ride in their car. It’s your job to ensure the road is kind to them and that their journey is a safe one. Bump the road with simple touch controls to guide them along their way, helping them collect memories of their past as the go. There are three excellent games modes: Evergreen Ride in which you must as far as you can; Sunday Trip in which you attempt to beat your best time; and Memory Lane in which you can sit back an enjoy the story. Featuring Retina display visuals and Game Centre achievements and leaderboards.

Draw Jump($0.99) iPhone / ($2.99) iPad – Games

In Draw Jump you are the fuel that powers Cosmo the rocket. Draw lines with the swipe of a finger and create trampolines that will launch Cosmo into outer space on his journey of epic proportions. See if you can keep up and draw enough trampolines to keep him in the air and take him higher and higher. Leave Earth and see the stars and visit planets filled with hot dogs and sea critters. This brilliant little arcade game from Electronic Arts and Pear Computer features a gameplay mechanic similar to Doodle Jump, but with a twist that promises to be just as successful.

Casey’s Contraptions – ($2.99) iPad – Games

In Casey’s Contraptions you must create Rude Goldberg-like machines made from toys and everyday items to solve puzzles and playtime scenarios to help Casey get his toys back. Use slingshots, RC cars, darts, ropes, magnets, balloons, trapdoors, punching gloves and plenty of other weird and wonderful items to create the craziest inventions over 70 levels. Casey’s Contraptions boasts smooth, physics-based gameplay, more than 30 different items to build with, a level editor to create your own contraptions, and Game Centre integration.
