A week after its release, a memoir about Navy Seal Team Six is topping sales on iTunes. The elite military personnel are trained to conduct the most top secret operations involving combat, anti-terrorism and dangerous rescues – like the one that led to killing Osama Bin Laden on May 2.
The nine-and-a-half hour audiobook version of “SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy SEAL Sniper” bumped comic Tina Fey’s “Bossypants” memoir from the number one position.
In the SEAL book, master sniper Howard Wasdin recounts his experiences in Operation Desert Storm and in Somalia. Publishers rushed it into publication ahead of its May 24 date to meet demand; representative for publisher St. Martin’s Press told Reuters that it almost quadrupled the print run to 70,000 copies.
