SwitchEasy TRIM (in White) for iPhone 4 [Review]

SwitchEasy TRIM (in White) for iPhone 4 [Review]

Have a new white iPhone 4? Looking for a case to go along with it? The SwitchEasy TRIM ($19.95, Big Shoulder Devices) in white just might be the one that you’re looking for. It’s made of “super tough Scratch Resistant Hydro Polymer materialfused with highly durable polycarbonate” to give your iPhone 4 some great protection as well as making it look pretty slick. It’s available in several different colors, and is all around a nice value. Check out my full review below.

At $19.95, you’re getting a great deal. Like most SwitchEasy products, you get a lot of small goodies with your purchase. For the TRIM, you get:

  • SwitchEasy TRIM (White)
  • 2x dock adapters (one in black, one in white)
  • 2x 30-pin dock covers
  • 2x headset jack covers
  • Stand
  • User manual
  • Screen protector + microfiber (not pictured)

The TRIM features little ridges all around the edges to give you some extra grip. Some say that they’re a bit sharp, but I think otherwise. The back of the case features a frosted polycarbonate plate so that you can still see the back of the iPhone without having to look at scratches (like on a clear polycarbonate backing).

You get all of your usual button covers and openings. The power button and volume buttons are simple to press, and you still get a very “clicky” feel to them. The silent switch cutout is large enough for anybody to get into without having to fiddle around with. The bottom of the case has individual cutouts for the microphone, 30-pin dock connector, and speaker. The camera cutout is nice and large, and features a black inner lining to prevent any sort of flash issues when taking pictures.

Since this case is somewhat soft, it’ll give you some drop protection, which is always a good thing. I don’t worry about dropping my phone when it’s in this case.

What’s also good about the TRIM is the fact that it doesn’t change color! I’ve used a number of white cases for the iPhone 4 that change colors fairly quickly, such as Apple’s own Bumper. This one has yet to change in terms of the shade of white.

Overall, I’m very happy with this case, and it’s safe to say that this is my new favorite case. This is the case to get if you want to give your white iPhone 4 some nice protection and added design elements. Plus, at just under $20, you can’t go wrong.

Got this for a klutzy father who wanted a “grippy case.” He loves it in black. Very clean, professional case that really protects the hell outta the phone. The extras that come with the case are great as well. I poached the stand for myself and its very nice. With SwitchEasy, the quality is always guaranteed and the little things go a long way.

I’m guessing that’s not a real white iPhone. Wrong proximity sensor. Looks nice though, considering it.

i brought the white one it for my black iphone 4 , it’s getting yellowish after a few months. It will be a problem if paired with Pure white anti uv paint in White Iphone 4

For me, the best case for the iphone4 is the bumper. It’s minimalistic, keeping the beauty of the glass iphone4 still show while giving it good protection.

  • besweeet

The Bumper isn’t a case. It gives very little protection.

  • besweeet

It has the sensor area that was on the original white iPhone 4 images from last year.

Just to put these number in perspective, Apple sells 8M
iPhones a quarter. If Samsung really manages to sell 10M Galaxy S by the end of
the year, it’ll sell around 30% as many Androids as Apple sells iPhones. Now,
apple might increase the iPhone sales rate, but we need to remember that the
Galaxy only came out in the second quarter.

    Very impressive achievement for Samsung.

Great pictures!  The one showing the edges was enough to convince me to NOT get it.  But that’s what reviews are good for.

What about the screen protectors that are included?  Any good?

  • Andy Zhou

    yes..no bubbles, anti static

  • Starman_Andromeda

Thanks, Andy!  That means I’ll have to get an Eclipse case instead, and enjoy its screen protectors, but combo cover.
