SwitchEasy TRIM (in White) for iPhone 4 [Review]

Have a new white iPhone 4? Looking for a case to go along with it? The SwitchEasy TRIM ($19.95, Big Shoulder Devices) in white just might be the one that you’re looking for. It’s made of “super tough Scratch Resistant Hydro Polymer materialfused with highly durable polycarbonate” to give your iPhone 4 some great protection as well as making it look pretty slick. It’s available in several different colors, and is all around a nice value. Check out my full review below.

At $19.95, you’re getting a great deal. Like most SwitchEasy products, you get a lot of small goodies with your purchase. For the TRIM, you get:

  • SwitchEasy TRIM (White)
  • 2x dock adapters (one in black, one in white)
  • 2x 30-pin dock covers
  • 2x headset jack covers
  • Stand
  • User manual
  • Screen protector + microfiber (not pictured)

The TRIM features little ridges all around the edges to give you some extra grip. Some say that they’re a bit sharp, but I think otherwise. The back of the case features a frosted polycarbonate plate so that you can still see the back of the iPhone without having to look at scratches (like on a clear polycarbonate backing).

You get all of your usual button covers and openings. The power button and volume buttons are simple to press, and you still get a very “clicky” feel to them. The silent switch cutout is large enough for anybody to get into without having to fiddle around with. The bottom of the case has individual cutouts for the microphone, 30-pin dock connector, and speaker. The camera cutout is nice and large, and features a black inner lining to prevent any sort of flash issues when taking pictures.

Since this case is somewhat soft, it’ll give you some drop protection, which is always a good thing. I don’t worry about dropping my phone when it’s in this case.

What’s also good about the TRIM is the fact that it doesn’t change color! I’ve used a number of white cases for the iPhone 4 that change colors fairly quickly, such as Apple’s own Bumper. This one has yet to change in terms of the shade of white.

Overall, I’m very happy with this case, and it’s safe to say that this is my new favorite case. This is the case to get if you want to give your white iPhone 4 some nice protection and added design elements. Plus, at just under $20, you can’t go wrong.
