iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak Could Cause Wi-Fi Issues With Certain Routers

On Sunday an untethered jailbreak for devices running iOS 4.3.1 was finally released by the Dev-Team in the shape of PwnageTool and redsn0w. However, early jailbreakers are reporting that the exploit is causing issues with Wi-Fi on their devices.

I0n1c – aka Stefan Esser – is the brains behind the jailbreak, and confirmed the problem in a tweet earlier today. However, it seems users are only experiencing the issue with certain routers.

It seems the iOS 4.3.1 WIFI issue does only effect some routers. My WIFI is super fast on iOS 4.3.1

I0n1c also mentioned that Wi-Fi issues were the reason the 4.3.1 jailbreak was delayed, but claimed that the latest version of iOS suffers the issue even without hacking:

BTW: One of the reasons why the pwnagetool + redsn0w was delayed were mysterious wifi issues. Turned out they also happen WITHOUT JAILBREAK

Apparently, rebooting routers that are suffering from the issue should resolve the problem, according to I0n1c.

If you’re having problems with your device after jailbreaking iOS 4.3.1, let us know about them in the comments.
