Apple announced the new iPad will come equipped with front and rear-facing cameras as well as FaceTime video chat capability.
That got us thinking about live porn chat service iP4Play, which has been serving up porn via FaceTime since August 2010.
While interactive video sex chats are nothing new, FaceTime brings portability and convenience — or, as the Apple site touts it: “Now your smile goes even further” — and the porn company claims it has tens of thousands users, with a 30% growth surge each month. The service costs $4 a minute for a live chat with a video vixen.
Cult of Mac: How do you think the new iPad will affect services like iP4Play?
Travis Falstad: We’re still the one and only commercial user of FaceTime across either the adult or mainstream world. The new iPad is the best form factor for FaceTime across the Apple product line.
Cult of Mac: Any plans for new services?
TF: We’ll be offering more girl/girl and introducing boy/girl shows for callers over the coming weeks. We are also working on mainstream services for paid FaceTime calls.
We’ve also running a contest called Miss FaceTime to find the first iP4Playmate.
CoM: Any backlash or comment from Apple about putting porn on a device that’s supposed to be “porn free?”
TF: They never said that the device would be porn free, just that the store would be.
We haven’t heard anything from Apple but suspect they welcome us helping to promote FaceTime.
