Boulevard of Broken iPods

Lots of iPods have bitten the big one over the last six years. But never before have I seen so many totally trashed “breakthrough digital devices” in one place as at the great Pile of Photos of Broken iPods. Head over. Grab some hankies. Mourn. Reboot.

Well, they’ve sold over 100 million of these devices so I would expect after awhile some would die.

As for those that have their batteries die. I personally know four people that said iPod batteries suck. But then after pressing them about whether they usually let the iPod battery fully drain before charging it again, they admitted that yes, they let it fully drain before recharging. I told them that it wasn’t the batteries that sucked but their charging methods. I also showed them my 3rd Gen iPod and how it still plays for over 8 hours per use (I let them borrow it ONLY if they promised not to let the battery fully drain).

Tada, they were shocked to find “such as old iPod” still worked great. They (if they haven’t already) are going to buy a new iPod and change their charging ways.
