LAS VEGAS, CES 2011 – I wasn’t planning on ending up at the Case Logic booth, but as I was walking by, something rare happened—a product caught my eye.
It was their Sweater Cable netbook case line that drew me in (could also work great for that new Macbook Air you just bought). These little cases look great. Like, really great. Like I was surprised I was standing at the Case Logic booth great. And as I looked around at their other products, iPad sleeves, messenger bags, I starting becoming impressed.
Case Logic has made an obvious effort to step up their design game, and I commend them for that. A lot of the “indie looking,” well styled computer bags and sleeves I see come from smaller players who are really passionate about design, not from the big guys. Case Logic has been around a loooong while, and if they wanted to, they could have kept selling the same Lenovo-looking utilitarian gear they sold all throughout the 1990s and 2000s. I’m glad to see they didn’t go down that road though because some of the coolest cases I’ve seen so far at CES have been nestled inside the walls of that booth.
