Crowd-Sourced Deals Site Wants To Sell 1,000 People An iPad For $100 Off + Free Shipping

Did you miss out on that incredible $399 iPad deall TJ Maxx was using to lure customers into their stores this past Black Friday? You might be in luck: a new deals site has just gone online, and their goal is to deliver 32GB WiFi iPads to their customers for a hundred bucks off the standard price.

The site is called Evolyte, the self-proclaimed “superhero baby of Woot and Groupon that never cries.” The idea’s pretty simple: they try to get enough people on board to make a bulk purchase of a product, and if they succeed, they sell them at a discount.

In this case, if Evolyte can get 50 people signed up to buy an iPad 32GB, they’ll get $45 off the regular price plus free shipping. If Evolyte can get 1000 people signed up, that discount will shoot to $100.

To be honest, right now, it doesn’t look like Evolyte’s going to be able to deliver the iPad at a discount: right now, they’ve only sold 17 iPads, and there’s only 32 hours left to go. Here’s hoping this post will push some publicity in Evolyte’s direction: I’m sure my mother would absolutely love a new 32GB iPad this Christmas.
