MINIMAL Will Make You The Sexiest iPod Nano Watchbands You’ll Ever See

What started off as an off-the-cuff joke by Steve Jobs at September’s iPod Event has become an actual sub-industry of the iPod accessory market as manufacturers churn out watchbands by the factory full for the new, touchscreen Nano. The only problem is the cheapness and unimaginativeness of most of these solutions: either they are cheap rubber shells to encase your Nano in or simple straps onto which you are meant to clip your Nano.

They don’t pass muster. MINIMAL’s latest, Kickstarter-funded line of iPod Nano watchbands are something different though. They’re not just functional… they’re gorgeous.

MINIMAL’s bands come in two varities. The TikTok is the simpler of the two: it’s just a plastic band, albeit one with a snap-in frame that not only holds your Nano firmly in place, but allows you to easily take it out or put it back in if you need to. The LunaTik, though, is the truly impressive model: the bezel is made from Aerospace Grade Aluminum, and features two separate pieces that lock together, along with a strap made of silicone rubber.

These are very attractive options for those looking to turn their Nano into a fashionable wrist watch, and no wonder: the designer, Scott Wilson, used to be the creative director for watches at Nike. They’re not available yet, but they will be starting December 16th: you can buy the TikTok for $35 with a $25 pledge, and $70 for the Lunatik with a $50 pledge.
