If you’re the type who likes to do all of your shopping in one place, good news: Target stores have confirmed that starting on November 7th, the Big Bullseye will be selling the iPhone.
Starting on Sunday, 846 Target Stores with mobile centers will begin selling the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. This isn’t the first anticipated Apple gadget Target is selling: about this time last month, Target confirmed rumors and began to sell the iPad in their electronics sessions.
Target’s acquisition of the iPhone follows a trend over the last few months in which most big box retailers have started selling Apple’s mobile-capable iOS gadgets. Best Buy has sold the iPhone 4 since the end of June along with Wal-Mart and Radio Shack; Best Buy also began selling the iPad in all of its U.S. stores starting on September 26. The push into big box retailers is seen as a move by Apple to expand the reach of its product line-up past metropolitan areas.
One thing’s for certain, though: Target getting the iPhone just three weeks before Black Friday is no coincidence. Apple wants a lot of iPhones in people’s stockings this year.
