Tweet Library For iPad Is A Whole New Kind Of Twitter App

Tweet Library by Manton Reece is something special, and I think one of a very tiny handful of Twitter clients – not just on the iPad, but on all manner of platforms – that add something genuinely new.

Although Tweet Library does the things a normal Twitter client can do – display your timeline, your @mentions, all that stuff – they are actually secondary to its main features.

What Tweet Library is for is archiving, collecting, and filtering tweets. Through clever design and intelligent use of the Twitter API, it does things that are really hard to do on Twitter.com. It’s hard enough to find old tweets that are interesting, harder still to gather them together in a meaningful way. Tweet Library is designed to make those tasks very simple.

To really get an idea of what it’s all about, you have to watch this short screencast which explains everything in a nutshell.

For people who base all or part of their business on interactions via Twitter, I expect that features such as searchable archives and hand-picked, curated collections will be invaluable. Or at least worth the ten dollar asking price.
