Reminder: Free iPhone 4 Case Program Ends Today

Just a friendly reminder: if you fancy a free case or bumper for your iPhone 4, today is your last day that Uncle Steve is going to make it easy for you to get one.

Yup. Today, September 30th, is the day that Apple’s free iPhone 4 case program comes to a close, making getting a bumper to wrap around your attenuation-prone iPhone 4 antenna as easy as downloading an app and waiting (quite) a few weeks delivery.

Earlier this month, Apple announced that they were ending the case program after having conclusively proven that “the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought.” It’s debatable how true that statement is, but either way, the iPhone 4 Case Program wasn’t really meant to cure the antenna attenuation issue, but to end the PR nightmare of “Antennagate.” Presumably, Apple now feels confident that that fire is out.

That’s not to say you can’t still get a free iPhone 4 case past tomorrow. Apple is simply ending their automatic distribution of new cases to anyone who gives them their address.. if you want a free bumper tomorrow, you’ll have to deal with the unpredictable mood swings of an Apple Store Genius.
