Report: iOS ‘Totally Dominates the Web’ and Android

Apple’s mobile platform, iOS, is the third most-popular on the Internet, behind only Windows and Mac OS, one Internet usage research firm announced. The news is just the latest indication of the growing trend toward mobile computing.

While Windows had 91.3 percent of Internet usage, with Mac OS claiming five percent, iOS – which includes the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad – accounted for 1.1 percent of devices accessing the Internet in August, according to Net Applications. The figure put iOS ahead of both Android and Linux.

“It’s something to take note of when a mobile operating system passes something that’s been around forever,” said Vince Vizzaccaro, Net Applications vice president, noting iOS devices surpass the open-sourced operating system.

“Mobile’s growth curve is strong and mobile is become quite a phenomenon on the Internet,” he adds. As for the eternal Apple versus Google struggle, Net Applications said iOS has nearly a 6-to-1 advantage over the smartphone platform.

Vizzaccaro: “Whatever the sales are, we’re seeing iOS totally dominate the market on the Web.”

Earlier this summer, Google-owned ad firm AdMob reported 57 percent of 43.8 million iOS devices were located outside the United States. For Android, the Google smartphone platform registered 12.7 million worldwide devices, according to AdMob.

Intriguing, but a counter argument against this very topic. http://techcrunch.com/2010/09/03/quantcast-mobile-web-browsing/

I remember when Apple used to say it was quality over quantity. I guess it depends on whether you’re on top. I’m not arguing mobile OS superiority (I use an iPhone and have since 2007) – just making a point.

Ha, you wish. Apple Fanboys never give up.
Android outsells iOS already, despite the lies of Steve Jobs, and the numbers on independent sites about the web usage of Android says it other way around.
Sorry guys, Apple lost, the war is over.

Ryo says: “the numbers on independent sites about the web usage of Android says it other way around”

So Net Applications isn’t an independent site? Amazing.

“Apple lost, the war is over.”

Hmm. A company making more profits than any other phone manufacturer in the world has “lost”. Again, amazing.

Ryo has such truly amazing facts for us all. Looking forward to more amazing and insightful revelations in the future.

I just got my new iPhone 4 two days ago and I was able to jail break it in less than 6 minutes.

By the way, I didn’t have to pay for the phone. If you want a free iPhone 4, just follow the instructions in the link below:

At the beginning, I was skeptical but when I got the phone delivered to my house, I was shocked.
