Free Bumper Cases Delayed Until September?

I just got an email notification from Apple about my free Bumper case, which I just ordered using the iPhone 4 app.

“That was quick,” I thought. But then I saw the estimated ship date: Aug 27. And the estimated arrival? September 1st.

Did anyone get an earlier ship date?

    Makes me glad I managed to get one at the Apple Store when I bought my iPhone 4. I got my refund of $32 and change today about 4hrs after I had applied for it.

    Yup mine has the excact same dates the messed up part is I bought my phone on June 24th on launch day you think apple would want to get the cases out to the early adopters first since we’re the ones Having the issues

    Mine is the exact same as the author of the post with the exception that I got the Speck PixelSkin HD case instead. Same dates though.

    Everything ordered online apple has ridiculous delivery dates. I think they cross country by mule then do the last mile with fedex so you have to sign for it.

    Let’s see if that’s when it’s actually delivered before we whine too much. My phone arrived almost a week before the projected arrival date. Whose to say these won’t show up early, too?

    i’m going to the store tomorrow because i saw that ridiculous date. i’d rather buy it, then apply for the refund. it’s more important my phone be covered/protected than being out $30 for a month. hopefully i can buy one tomorrow and then apply for the refund???

    I also got Sept 1 delivery date for a Belkin clear case… I could be more impressed, Apple, a LOT more impressed…

    good luck with that. Apple stopped carrying ALL iPhone 4 cases (not that they had anything except bumpers anyway) would be pretty silly to try to get people to buy stuff thats free.

    Our pixelspeck HD has a Sept 3 ship date. That’s 6 weeks. Yeesh!

    I ordered mine this morning and my ship date is 5-6 weeks from now by then I’ll have my GelaSkin and there will be 100 more better iphone 4 cases but the shitty thing about this whole thing is I am left handed so my phone is always on the low end of reception and putting a case on it really will not work for me since all of my attachments don’t allow a case to be on. I didn’t buy this phone to have to cover it up with a bulky case but I am also not switching back to iphone 3gs after experiencing iphone 4.

    you’re probably right, no argument here. but i figure all i’m losing is a day. i have a store 15min away from my house. if i luck out, i’ll just order one from the app right there from the store :)

    When I bought my iPhone 4 I also bought the last bumper in stock at the time. I’ve since been refunded for it.

    $30 plus tax for a strip of rubber, reimbursed or not, is absurd.

    OMG you whiners. You get a free case and you still complain. Did Apple ever state how quickly they would give cases to everyone? No they did not. Spoiled little brats.

    The app clearly showed the shipping times for all the cases. The iPhone has been out for a month so most companies are still probably tooling their factories into production.

    It amazes me how entitled everyone has become.

    My refund has already been processed.

    Remember this is an industry wide issue and Apple is the only company offering free cases to customers. Check out the Motorola hemdroid X video Apple posted showing their “deathgrip”. Wonder how long it will take Motorola to ship out their cases. Oh wait, they are still saying their antenna doesn’t lose its signal. Let’s start the counter and see how many days it takes before they admit to an issue, mail out a case or offer refunds. I’m guessing they will wait until they have figured out the display problems they are having.

    Well yesterday I got my refund for the one I had bought on launch day and also got a confirmation email that my new bumper would ship on the 27th of july….

    Applied mid-day yesterday, case arrived this morning, followed by a phone call from Steve Jobs (checking to make sure I’m happy). Everyone here at the Vatican is very impressed with the good service, both from Apple as well as God, the Father. Amen.

    Yet another misleading article title. How can a ship time of basically four weeks be considered “delayed”????? Everything I’ve ever ordered on the Internet said “4 to 6 weeks” for delivery. This is a STANDARD SHIP TIME.

    Unless the author wants to profess to being some kind of moron (I’m sure he is not), this is total click-bait. A non article about nothing.

    Hi,

    As much as I love Apple products (used to have an iPhone 3G S and have an iMac), the actual ‘phone part’ of the iPhone, has never been in my opinion, very good at all!

    Everything else on the device is fantastic, but as a phone, I don’t think it was ever much better, than about average.

    Maybe if we stop buying the iPhone, then Apple will be shocked into properly rectifying the signal issue.

    I don’t understand people, who continue to buy the iPhone, yet still complain about it. Why not, stop buying them? That way, Steve Jobs really will have to pull his finger out!

    However, Apple have made a right mess out of this whole dropped signal issue.

    Their claim of the ‘misrepresentation of signal bars’ was an embarassing case of bluff and bluster, if ever there was one!

    I expected a long delay. There are few iPhone 4 cases on the market as it is, and these “free” cases are going to stress their production capacity even further. I make due with my DRO case. It’s a bit loose, like wearing your dad’s shoes, but I don’t have reception pro…hello, hello, can you hear me?

    Ordered the PS HD thingy. Ships 9/3 & gets here 9/8, maybe. I’ll have to find a cheap case in the interim. Always use protection, or so I’ve been told. At least I don’t have to wait ? months for a white iPhone 4. \o/

    The most important thing to understand is that the reception thing isn’t a huge issue for everyone. Even so, if there is stuff, people are going to want a hand in it. That being said, with such a large expected order, any company would have to safeguard itself by promising ridiculous ship dates. Chances are, the case will arrive before then.

    I wouldnt worry. Mine was scheduled to be delivered in 3-5 weeks. I got the delivery notification email today, 1 working day after i placed my order

    I ordered mine on Friday 23rd July and had a shipping date of 27th August, on Sunday 25th July I received an email from Apple that my bumper had been dispatched via the post and wil be with me in 3-5 working days, almost a month shaved of the estimate. I’m in the UK by the way!

    I ordered mine, it shows shipped, and a USPS delivery confirmation…to an address (a PO Box mind you…) halfway across the state!?!?!? I just got the delivery confirmation via email today; again 200+ miles from my house. WTH do I do now?
