Google Photos for iOS can now stream images and videos to Apple TV over AirPlay.

It’s just another reason why you should be using the app to backup all your precious memories.

Apple makes it super-simple to backup your photos and videos to iCloud, and it has been catching up with Google Photos with features like Memories in iOS 10. But if you have a lot of content, iCloud backup is going to cost you, whereas you can upload as much as you like to Google for free.

What’s more, Google Photos offers some neat features you won’t find anywhere else, like its awesome Assistant. This takes your images and videos and automatically creates fancy collages and animations that it thinks you will enjoy.

With the app’s latest update, you can now stream those collages and animations — plus all your other photos and videos — directly to your Apple TV using Apple’s own AirPlay platform. The feature is ideal for showcasing your latest albums or home movies to friends and family.

The update weighs in at 165MB, so you might want to ensure you’re connected to Wi-Fi before downloading. You can grab it now from the App Store.
