Happy Friday! Here’s this week’s selection by Mac Games and More featuring fun casual games you can play into the weekend. The games include a smashing tennis game for expert arcade gamers, magical spells on a fantastic farm, seriously hard solitaire games for Mac and more.
 Serpent of Isis – The developers of the beautiful tile game for Mac, Venice Mystery, released a second title that combines an intriguing mystery, hidden objects, challenging mini games and a little adventure gaming thrown into the mix. In Serpent of Isis, you have a primary obsession: finding a rare Egyptian artifact that has been missing for a long, long time. You’ve spent nearly your entire life dedicated to locating the Serpent of Isis. One day, you receive an anonymous letter disclosing important information: Five robbers have stolen the artifact and have just boarded the Palu Express train. You’ve got to get on board the train to recover pieces of the artifact from each of the five thieves before the train reaches its final destination in London. Search for clues in the train and during stopovers in Paris, Budapest and Vienna – that implicate each of the suspects, to help you locate the pieces. Download it

 Smashing Tennis – Smashing Tennis takes inspiration from arcade games and focuses on the real sport of tennis, ideal for novices as well as experts, who’ve been looking for a straight-up game of 2D Mac tennis, tournaments and all. After some bit of practice (think like the days of requisite skillful arcade gaming – see controls here), players are able to hit, serve, smash and dink the ball where ever they want, thanks to realistic physics. Players will also be able to dive if they hit the ball while being slightly away from it. NOTE: Kids and adults with less than polished gaming skills are recommended to begin in Easy Mode (press F6).  Fantastic Farm – The Fantastic Farm isn’t just your run-of-the-mill farm. You see, it’s managed by Maggie, a recent alumnus from the School of Magic, so her work style and ethic are a far cry from those on an ordinary farm. Thank goodness she can step up the pace there because an evil businessman is trying to smush the farm like a bug. Why can’t she just put a spell on him or turn him into a monkey? Anyway, in this time management/sim game, help Maggie raise animals, grow plants, and run magical machines to produce sweaters, pies, ice creams and more.  Solavant – Do you love easy, mindless solitaire games to play the day away? Then, this game is NOT for you. Solavant Solitaire, developed by Tom Cain of Smallware, is for the mindful and very serious solitaire aficionado looking for challenging games of solitaire, games that will work the mind like crazy. This set includes really hard solitaire games for Mac so don’t expect any hints, cheats or easy games. However, do expect an ambitious and rewarding set of 242 variations on Solitaire. Download it |
