Tweetie Developer Says Tweetie 2 for Mac, iPad Version Coming

A few days after Tweetie for Mac was named a winner in Ars Technica’s design awards for best Mac OS X software, Tweetie and Twitter for iPhone developer Loren Brichter has said that an iPad version is in the works… and he soon plans to get back into the update cycle for Tweetie for Mac as well.

As far as the iPad version of Tweetie is concerned, Brichter says: “The goal is to exceed the Twitter iPhone app in the iPad,” he said. “I swear the reunification is coming between iPhone, Mac, and iPad.”

As for Tweetie for Mac — a fantastic application which has sadly been passed by in useful features by competitors like TweetDeck — Brichter has plans to get back into working on Tweetie 2 for Mac in the next few weeks, and even already has ideas for a Tweetie 3.

But the future of Tweetie? While it’s not quite there yet, Brichter hopes it’s the iPad.

“If you break the idea that we have to use software keyboards the traditional way, there’s so much potential for insanely fast programming,” Brichter said. “Think about keyboard buttons becoming whole variable names. You could become so efficient while programming!”

Well, that qualifies you to be CEO of Microsoft.

For some reason I think even little old me could do a better job then Ballmer or as I like to call him monkey boy. If ray Ozzie ever becomes CEO maybe MS would finally start innovating again. Ray Ozzie strikes me as someone who has a very smart business sense about him.
