Keeping tabs on your Apple Pencil is about to get a lot easier once Apple comes out with the second-generation version later this year.

A new rumor out of Asia claims Apple plans to release an updated version of its fancy stylus this spring and like the Smart Cover, it will use magnets to attach itself to your iPad.

The Apple Pencil originally debuted at the end of 2015 alongside the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Apple is supposedly planning to launch new iPad Pros this spring with slimmer bezels, no home button, new processors, improved cameras and other features.

With the magnetic Apple Pencil 2, users will be able to securely attach the stylus to the iPad when not in use, according to rumor site Letem Svetem. It’s unclear if the magnetic attachments will be located on the side or the bottom of the iPad.

The rumor also suggests Apple Pencil 2 will come with a pen clip on the easer side of the device so that you can clip it to your pocket. No word on whether Apple plans to add a charging solution that doesn’t require users to plug Apple Pencil into an iPad.
