Yup. No discounts.

Apple’s one-day Black Friday event is now live in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and other markets around the world. Just as expected, there are no discounts to take advantage of, but Apple is giving away free gift cards with eligible orders.

We got an early glimpse at Apple’s Black Friday promotion when it went live in Australia and New Zealand, but we weren’t certain the same event would be held in the U.S. and other countries. Now we are — and we pretty disappointed.

[contextly_auto_sidebar] In years gone by, Apple used to offer decent discounts on its goods for Black Friday. But these days, it’s all about free gift cards with certain products — not including iPhone 7, Apple Watch Series 2, or the new MacBook Pro.

Here are the cards on offer in the U.S. and what you need to buy to get them:

  • Apple TV — $25
  • Apple Watch Series 1 — $25
  • iPhone SE — $25
  • iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus — $50
  • iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 — $50
  • iPad Pro — $100
  • iMac, Mac Pro, MacBook, MacBook Pro (excluding late-2016 models), MacBook Air — $150

Apple’s event is for one day only, so if you’re interesting in its deals, you’ll need to order before 11:59 p.m. local time. The promotion is available online and in Apple retail stores.

If you’d prefer discounts instead of free gift cards, you’ll have to turn to third-party retailers like B&H Photo, Best Buy, and MacMall. Be sure to check out our Black Friday live blog where you’ll find all these deals and more.
