iOS 10.2 public beta brings new wallpapers and emoji

One day after launching the first beta of iOS 10.2 to developers, Apple has now made the software update available to public testers.

iOS 10.2 is the first major update for iPhone and iPad users since 10.1 brought Portrait Mode To iPhone 7 Plus users as well as a number of UI tweaks. The new iOS 10.2 beta is slim on new features but does bring 72 new emoji and wallpapers.

New Additions

iPhone users can finally send a shrug emoji with iOS 10.2 beta 1. The update adds support for the Unicode 9.0 character set. Other emoji additions include the avocado, black heart, gorilla, face palm, shark and many more.

Three new wallpapers were added in iOS 10.2 beta 1 but they’re only available on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Other features include a new Preserve Camera setting, Video app widget, a celebration effect for Messages and the ability to star music.

Public testers can download the configuration file for iOS 10.2 beta 1 to install it directly onto your iPhone via an over-the-air update.
