With the improvements Apple made in iOS 10, Siri is more useful than ever. It is proving particularly helpful to lonely guys desperately looking for love, with hundreds of people turning to virtual assistants for “sexually explicit” conversations every day.

One of the great things about modern virtual assistants like Siri is that they’re friendlier than ever before. They use natural language, and they’re getting better at holding a conversation. Some are so good that you can forget they’re virtual… apparently.

[contextly_auto_sidebar] Some teenagers and “truckers,” who don’t have real partners to call their own, are increasingly turning to virtual assistants for companionship, according to Ilya Eckstein, the chief executive of Robin Labs, which develops the Robin assistant.

More than 300 men use Robin every day just to chat, reports The Telegraph.

“This happens because people are lonely and bored…. It is a symptom of our society,” Eckstein said. “As well as the people who want to talk dirty, there are men who want a deeper sort of relationship or companionship.”

Around 5 percent of interactions with Robin are now sexually explicit, Eckstein added. He also says that a third take place for no reason, with many users just wanting someone — or something — to talk to.

Robin isn’t the only one, either. Deborah Harrison, a writer for Cortana, Microsoft’s virtual assistant, revealed earlier this year that “a good chunk of the volume of early-on inquiries” were about Cortana’s sex life.

I don’t think I’ll ever look at Siri in the same way again.
