Best List: CalypsoTimeless Cuvette Charging Stand for Apple Watch
When a high-tech accessory doubles as something else I’m always intrigued. In this instance, I’m looking at a charging stand that not only powers up my Apple Watch, but is a great art piece independent of its charging capabilities.
The CalypsoTimeless Charging Stand is unique in its design and approach to charging. It consists of a simple arch form swathed in soft, European leather and held together by meticulous stitching. The top of the arch is slightly cushioned, yielding a safe charging spot for my Apple Watch.
Tactiley satisfying as well, the leather feels as soft and supple as suede. The stand I’m checking out is the Cuvette in bordeaux red, which to my eyes looks dark brown. The arch is also available in Calibre (black), Resonance (white-beige) and Balance (orange).
Measuring in at 8.75 inches across and about 4 inches high, size could be an issue for some. I personally think it looks great on my nightstand, and can accept the tradeoff of style over space.

Here’s how the charger works. On the arch’s underbelly is a channel in which to perfectly fit the cord of your Apple Watch charger. At the center of the arch is a circular cutout where the puck of the charger goes. Simply work the charging puck into the circular cutout. Be patient as it will be a tight fit, and may require a bit of wriggling to get the charging puck flush with the top of the arch. Place your Apple Watch over the length of the arch, with its back lined up and touching the charging puck.
The genius design keeps the actual charger hidden from view, while the Apple Watch remains visible draped over the top of arch. Magnets housed within the arch keep the charger and watch in place. I’ve gotta say, the mingling of fine leather with the gleaming steel of my Apple Watch make for a striking visual statement in my otherwise non-stylish apartment.
A word of caution: Because of the arch shape of the CalypsoTimeless, this stand won’t work well for single-piece bands like the Apple Link Bracelet that do not “unfold.”
