Apple plans to unveil a new way to discover what to watch on TV at its event tomorrow.

The new recommendation service will come in the form of an app, according to a new report that claims it will also help networks by giving them a place to promote new show.

[contextly_auto_sidebar] “Described to network executives as ‘the Watch List,’ the app will recommend shows based on the content viewers access through their Apple TVs,” reports USA Today. “For example, a subscriber to FX Networks might be encouraged to check out the new dramatic series Atlanta.”

Apple laid the ground work for the app with its search and discovery features on the Apple TV 4. This summer at WWDC Apple introduced its single sign-on plan that plays a key role as well. The feature lets users access all of the channels in their cable package by signing in with their Apple ID.

The new app will not be called “The Watch List,” but the network executives with knowledge of the project did not divulge the official name.

It’s unclear if the app will be made just for Apple TV, or if Apple will launch it on iOS devices too so you can keep up with shows on the go.

Apple is expected to unveil a new MacBook Pro at its “Hello Again” event on October 27. New iMacs and a new 13-inch MacBook Air are also rumored to get some stage time at the event at Apple’s HQ in Cupertino.

Cult of Mac will liveblog all of the action starting at 10AM PT. You can also watch the livestream on Apple TV or Safari for Mac and iOS.
