Kanye West blames Apple and Tidal “bullshit” for causing a feud between him and Drake. Kanye was supposed to appear alongside Jay Z on the final “Pop Style” track of Drake’s Views album — an Apple Music exclusive at launch — but that didn’t happen.

When Drake first teased “Pop Style” on Instagram six months ago, his image (above) said it would feature The Throne (Kanye and Jay Z). However, the verses from the duo were cut from the final version of the track that made it onto the Views album.

[contextly_auto_sidebar] “Y’all didn’t get what y’all were supposed to get with me and Drake on this song because of some Tidal/Apple bullshit,” Kanye told the crowd in Seattle last night during his Saint Pablo tour.

“Every time I perform this song I think about this shit. I think about the politics.”

Kanye added that only he was supposed to feature on the track initially, but Jay Z joined in. “I start freestyling to it. Jay thought of a couple of lines. I said, ‘Just go ahead, throw that on there. [Drake will] be so surprised, he probably won’t expect you to be on there.'”

“We sent it back to him and he was like, ‘Oh shit, The Throne is on this shit.’ Then Jay thought about it, and out of respect to Meek Mill he didn’t want to be on the track. I said, ‘We’ve got to squash this shit and let people have this song.'”

“But then it went into some political shit, some shit about percentages on songs. I can’t take this shit, bro.”

Kanye also said a second Watch the Throne album won’t happen while Apple Music and Tidal are fighting. He has previously slammed streaming exclusives, and he wants Apple to buy Tidal from Jay Z. However, Jimmy Iovine has already said that’s not happening.
