No Porn on iPad? Artist Strikes Back (NSFW)

Ah, the Apple iPad. A family device. Or is it? @johannes-p-osterhoff

Irked by Steve Jobs’ assertion that the iPad offers “freedom from porn,”  an artist has struck back with a giant, mock NSFW iPad ad in a Berlin subway station.

johannes-p-osterhoff (creative punctuation, for once, not mine. NB: the “p” stands for pixel) defines himself as an interface artist, other thought-provoking projects include a giant “submit” button to commemorate web generation 1.0 and one addressing  Windows security mania.

But on closer inspection...@johannes-p-osterhoff

His giant, pornified iPad ad grabs the attention of passersby in Berlin’s Rosenthaler Platz station. No details yet on how he managed to get the ad busting project approved or how long it’ll stay up.

iPad is...porn? @johannes-p-osterhoff

Osterhoff says it was the original Apple ad, with the iPad placed on a man’s lap, viewing pics with his sneakered feet up, that inspired his thinking about the devices’ optimal use as a porn delivery tool:

“As one can see in the relaxed posture Apple imagines for its future users, the iPad is about to offer an entirely new porn experience. The user experience of the device and its dimensions will make it a perfect hand for porn viewers. If not—it will be due to the platform only.”

Even educated fleas do it...@johannes-p-osterhoff

This isn’t the first time Apple has been pwned with an ad, it won’t likely be the last.

Is the ad busting legitimate or much ado about nothing?
