Discounts on not-new laptops and tablets continue to shine this week, with Apple itself offering its legendary factory-refurbished MacBook Pros, and eBay offering an open-box 10-inch iPad Pro. You’ll find these deals and more in this week’s roundup of best Apple deals.

Refurbished MacBook Pro laptops from $829

Apple continues to discount a selection of its factory-refurbished MacBook Pro laptops, with prices starting at $829. Plus, all orders receive free shipping. Each system is covered by a one-year Apple warranty (the same as new units).

A couple of best bets, compared to the best available prices for new units, include the refurb MacBook Pro i5 dual 2.7 GHz 13.3-inch Retina laptop with 256GB SSD for $1,269 (low by $49), and the refurb MacBook Pro i5 dual 2.9 GHz 13.3-inch Retina laptop with 512GB SSD for $1,529 (low by $71).

iPhone 5s 16GB prepaid Straight Talk phone for $149

The iPhone 7 might be available with no money down, but you’ll need to trade in a valuable iPhone 6, and lock yourself into an expensive two-year contract. Meanwhile, Walmart offers the iPhone 5s 16GB prepaid smartphone for Straight Talk in space gray or silver for just $149, with free shipping. That’s tied with last week’s mention, the best now by $63, and the lowest total price we’ve seen for the Straight Talk version of this phone.

Open-box iPad Pro 10-inch 128GB Wi-Fi tablet for $570

Quick Ship Electronics via eBay offers the open-box iPad Pro 9.7-inch 128GB Wi-Fi tablet in space gray for $569.99 with free shipping. That’s $55 under our July mention of a new, factory-sealed unit and the lowest total price we’ve seen for this model. (It’s also the best deal now by $79.)

Starfall Learn to Read for iPhone and iPad for free

With the school year in full swing, your younger students might need a little help at home learning to read. iTunes offers downloads of Starfall Learn to Read for iPhone and iPad for free. The app normally costs $3, and has never been free before.
