So there’s this little-known search engine called Google and… okay, so the existence of a Google for iOS isn’t exactly a secret. However, this week it got a pretty big update by adding the ability to activate an “incognito mode,” letting you search for things you don’t want popping up in your search or browsing history history.

For extra security, you can even enable Touch ID for incognito mode, which means if you exit the Google app without ending your incognito session, only you can re-enter it and see your search results.

On top of this, the update also adds support for YouTube playback within search results, major stability improvements, and more.

Alto Dashboard

No, you haven’t clicked on an article from 1998: Alto Dashboard really is a great new tool from AOL. It’s an email app which helps you stay on top of multiple email accounts by analyzing and restructuring your messages in a way that makes it easy to get at the most important content.

This data is presented as actionable “cards,” generated using algorithms that identify factors like calendar data, your location, shipping information, frequency of communication, and the relative “importance” of an email. It can also connect to your calendar and automatically create events to make managing your schedule easier.

You don’t need an AOL account either, since Alto supports all major mail providers, including Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, and others.

Burly Men at Sea

Come on, how could you not want to love a game called Burly Men at Sea? Having previously been available on PC through Steam, this interactive narrative-driven game puts you in the driving seat of a folktale about fishermen in early 20th century Scandinavia.

With a branching storyline, gorgeous graphics that remind me of my beloved Monument Valley, and genuinely unique gameplay dynamics, this comes with the highest of recommends. Particularly if you’re after an iOS gaming experience that’s a bit different!

Cost: $4.99

Alto’s Adventure

We’ve been championing the excellent endless runner snowboarding game Alto’s Adventure since before its release, but this week it got a nifty update that makes it well worth checking out if you’re an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus owner.

By adding in-game haptic feedback, the devs behind Alto’s Adventure have become some of the first gamemakers to support Apple’s new Taptic Engine. You’ll notice the new vibrations at various points during gameplay, and they definitely help improve the experience.

If you’re looking for a good demo of how the Taptic Engine can be used creatively by devs, this is one app worth downloading. Although, to be honest, even if you haven’t got a new iPhone, this game is astonishingly good stuff.

Available for: iPhone, iPad
Cost: $3.99
