Apple Is Biggest Company in Tech: Passes Microsoft In Market Cap

In one of the biggest and unlikeliest turnarounds in business history, Apple is the most valuable company in technology, passing Microsoft in market capitalization.

Apple’s market cap has passed $227.1 billion — ahead of Microsoft’s $226.3 billion. Apple is up about 1.8% today, and Microsoft down about 1%.

Of course, this may change tomorrow, but for the moment, Apple is the new king of technology.

About time! Well deserved by Apple for sure. As a Mac user for months now, I completely agree with people buying their products. I use to buy Microsoft products and those ugly PC’s driven off of Microsoft’s gruelling operating system, but now I’m in love with my Mac. Congratulations Apple! And Here’s to many more!

So…Is Steve Balmer still laughing at Apple? I still remember his laughing at the iPhone debut.

  • BoxMac

    Fuck Ballmer.
    Fuck Gates.
Fuck ALL Of the Apple naysayers — you jealous nothings ….

It is now DOCUMENTED FACT: Apple is in the process of an UNPRECEDENTED roll in the business world.
And it’s all due to the guy who got fired by his own company ….

I wonder how much Apple stock Sculley has ?

Karma’s a bitch, and a really slow one at that.

I do not see Jobs having fun because of this.
But those Windows fanboys that have been writing about Apple demise are digging in mud to hide.

Wait, they are now on the Google side!

    This is not BIG deal.
    It is called capitalism.

  • Hmm

    Does this mean we’ve won?

  • Bob Forsberg

Love Apple, dislike PCs, but if Apple continues as it has presently with Microsoft type policies of the 80′s….Google might overtake them both.

  • mac sucks

I hope that you mac fan boys that get boners from viewing this chart don’t get ur hopes up too much. You’ll be flacid again in no time. Apple has thrived off of being unpopular. Tons of people viewed macs as hip or cool. However, now that they are popular they are declining in popularity by the majority of the consumers which are consumers that hate conforming.
