Katy Perry’s new single, her first since 2014, is out today — and you’ll find it only on Apple Music and iTunes. “Rise,” which will be used as the anthem for NBC’s coverage of the Rio Olympics this summer, is exclusive to Apple’s services at launch.

Perry has spent plenty of time in the news over the last few years, thanks mostly to her public spats with follow Apple fangirl Taylor Swift — but she has actually been on a short hiatus from the music business. That comes to an end today.

“Rise,” which has been “brewing inside” Perry for years, according to a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, is available now on Apple Music and iTunes.

“I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite,” Perry said. “I know that together we can rise above the fear – in our country, and around the world.”

It’s unclear how long “Rise” will be an Apple exclusive for. The company’s most recent music deals, like that for Drake’s latest album, “Views,” have been short-term — so it probably won’t be too long before “Rise” reaches rival services like Spotify and Tidal.
