Just days after it arrived on the App Store, NBA star Steph Curry’s emoji app, StephMoji, has already shot to the top of the paid apps list.

Because which indie devs need your money more than a $12 million per year basketball player?

Curry’s app debuted on Wednesday, costing $1.99, offering users “access [to] hundreds of brand-new emoji personally curated by Steph himself.” These include iconic images such as him chewing on his mouthguard,  to images of him laughing and sleeping, plus emojis of daughter Riley and wife Ayesha.

As a Brit I’ll admit that I’m not wholly familiar with Curry — and certainly not of any context in which a sleeping basketball star emoji is something I’ve combed my iPhone for before giving up in frustration — but the success of the app is notable in itself.

While no figures have been released, in order to rise to the top of the paid apps list it’s already overtaken Kimoji, the emoji app launched by Kanye West’s wife Kim Kardashian. At the height of of her Kimoji success, Kim’s app was reportedly generating a massive 9,000 downloads per second. When you consider that Curry’s app costs a couple of bucks, and that his social media presence isn’t a world away from hers, he stands to make a sizable wedge of cash from his new career as an app developer.

How long he can keep up the winning streak is anyone’s guess. In the meantime, if you want to download StephMoji you can do so from here.
